Text isn't showing in pleadings in Microsoft Edge

In February of 2024, Microsoft released an update to the Edge internet browser. After doing so, some users started having problems with their pdf pleadings no longer populating with data in EstateAssist. Microsoft identified issues with Edge's ability to read pdfs and released a new update. However, some users continued to have problems. We tend to prefer and suggest users use the Google Chrome browser. However, if you prefer Edge, there is a simple setting change you can make to ensure your do...

Why am I getting an error when creating an estate accounting?

If you receive an error or have a receipt missing when creating an estate accounting, it is almost certain that you have necessary information missing from one or more Receipts. Remember that accounting in an estate requires EstateAssist to look at: 1) What assets were received during the accounting period? 2) What assets were sold/liquidated/deposited during the accounting period? 3) What assets were transferred away during the accounting period? 4) What were the proceeds of sale/liquidatio...

Filled PDF field only shows text when clicked?

What if a filled PDF field only shows text when clicked? EstateAssist automates the preparation of probate court pleadings. It does so by filling Supreme Court standard probate forms, and local probate court forms. All of these come in the form of PDFs with fillable fields. EstateAssist takes your data and automatically fills those PDFs with the information needed for your filings. A small number of users have had situations where some of the fields (usually a case caption) in their forms ar...

What is the best way to save a form to my computer?

We suggest you do not just use "Save As" to save generated PDFs to your computer. Instead, while in EstateAssist, after making any changes you want to the form, we would suggest you use the "Print" function in your browser and change the "printer" to your computer's "Print to PDF" option. This will save your PDF to the folder on your computer that you select, but in a static format. The fillable fields will be "locked" and you will have a traditional PDF image that is easier to use, share, send,...

How do I add other members of my firm to our EstateAssist account?

Any user who has Administrator privileges can click the "Admin" link at the top of their user dashboard. In the Admin screen, they can "Invite" other Attorney and Non-Attorney users. How do we change who can see or access a case?

Case access privileges can be altered in two places: 1) The most common way is to go to a case's case dashboard and click the Access icon (bottom right of the case dashboard icon window) and change who can access the case there. This video shows the steps: Collaborating and Assigning Case Access Rights - YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOBdjTyT_IA) 2) Administrators can also go to the Admin link at the top of their user dashboard. There, they have the option of reassigning ALL cases f...

I think a local form is missing.

We are in the process of adding local forms for every Ohio county to EstateAssist. The list of current forms on the app can be seen here (https://www.estateassist.app/forms). Local forms are found below the State Standard Forms on the Pleadings page. If the county has a local form with the same name/number as a State Standard Form, the State Standard Form will still show up in the upper section for pleadings, and the local form will be in the bottom section. For most counties, our team had to...
